Where Can I Find a Notary?
If you are in need of a notarization, all you have to do is find a local mobile notary online, give them your street address, city, state, zip code, and schedule an appointment. Fees include a signature fee as well as a travel fee. Your mobile notary will arrive at your home, office, or anywhere you desire at the time you scheduled and perform an in-person notarization.
In preparation, we recommend that you have a valid government-issued photo ID as well as your documents ready. We advise that all parties be present and that they wait to sign your document until your appointment.

What is a Notary?
A notary is a “person authorized to perform certain legal formalities, especially to draw up or certify contracts, deeds, and other documents for use in other jurisdictions.” In short, notaries ensure that your signature is actually your signature. Depending on the type of notarization the document requires, they may perform an acknowledgment or a jurat. Additionally, you may be asked for a thumbprint or oath.
UPS Notarization
If you do not want to call a mobile notary, you can always fall back on UPS. UPS generally has a someone on staff who can notarize your documents for $15 per signature. While this is definitely a low cost way to go about obtaining notarizations, it is recommended that you phone your local UPS ahead of time to ensure their notary is available. Additionally, be prepared for long lines which can contribute to wait times.
Quick note: while USPS used to offer notary services, they stopped in 2014.
Online Notarization
There are some notary services online and while they seem quite reliable, there are a few shortcomings. If you need to notarize wills, trusts, deeds, or a power of attorneys, you must go through the notarization process in person.
